THE STORY BEHIND "NIGHT LIGHTS"
Night Lights emerges as a three-panel triptych that encapsulates the essence of my nightly escapades. Picture this: a mesmerizing blend of blues and teals dancing alongside vivid bursts of reds and oranges, seamlessly woven with dashes of radiant yellow. This artwork, nestled within the Shattered Series, bursts forth with a vivacious and stimulating vibe, reminiscent of the energy emanating from a blossoming garden at dusk.
This creation stemmed from my intimate connection with the night – those moments of solace amid the chirping crickets and the distant croaks of bullfrogs. Living by a channel leading to a nearby lake, summer nights unfold into a natural symphony, a serene composition that speaks to my soul when everything else falls silent.
On many evenings, I found myself enchanted by the neon lights across the channel, snapping an obscene number of photos. A neighbor's display, flickering hues of pink, yellow, orange, and green, cast a slow, mesmerizing glow through the trees, almost resembling an intricate web—a mycelium network in the making. To my dismay, the lights unexpectedly vanished one evening.
In a bid to rekindle that joy, 'Night Lights' was born. As the hues took form on the canvas, I poured my longing to revive those captivating nights into each brushstroke. Its vibrant blues and teals echo the serenity of those evenings, while the spirited interplay of reds, oranges, and hints of radiant yellow mirror the dynamic allure of a thriving garden under the moonlight.
After years of taking photos of my neighbor’s house, I finally seized an opportunity to meet the mysterious neighbor behind this luminous show, to express how much joy these lights brought to my nightly strolls. It was warmly welcomed, and they love ‘Night Lights’. They also put the lights back on much to my delight.
Through 'Night Lights,' I invite you into the intimate moments I cherish, painting a vivid portrayal of the serene allure of the night and the captivating display of colors that adorned my neighbor's space, bringing a touch of that nightly magic into your own world.

Finishing
